For the People by the People
Campaign Promises and My Priorities as Mayor of Irondale
-
City debt has increased from $44 Mil to $114 Mil ($70 Mil increase) under the Stewart administration. I will eliminate wasteful spending and will be a good steward of your taxpayer dollars.
-
To attract and grow local businesses—especially restaurants—I will eliminate the occupational tax for new and existing businesses.
-
Residents should not have to pay extra for basic services like trash pickup.
-
No more apartment complexes or high-density developments in residential areas or near our rivers.
-
I will oppose all increases to property taxes.
-
We will test water in every district and take immediate action to eliminate harmful contaminants.
-
As mayor, I will take no salary, no city vehicle, no insurance, and no retirement.
-
We will appoint a professional to manage daily operations and increase efficiency.
-
Public records will be made available to any citizen within 72 hours of request—no delays, no red tape.
-
The mayor and city council work for the people. That hasn’t been the case—and that must change.
-
We will follow the original spirit of Irondale: open dialogue, inclusion, and shared vision.
